My brother is moving temporarily to Oakland and is looking to sublease his apt. (Partially furnished, I believe.) It's on Humboldt St., right next to the Lakeway entrance to I-5. It's a nice daylight basement apt with a great backyard/deck. He owns the house and rents out the upstairs to another tenant. If you like, I'll ask him if he's still looking for someone to rent it.

    I'm interested!  I've never lived alone (always with friends or dh) and thought this would be a great opportunity... i didn't realize it would be such an expensive opportunity :)  cassandrajlee at gmail dot com.

    Oo[s, sorry, I checked with him and it sounds like he already found someone. Have fun living alone! I kinda miss that time in my life. :)

    Thanks for checking!  I'll miss living with dh, but we'll see each other every weekend, so it won't be so bad... but if i'm living away from him i might as well do it the way i want, right?  I'll find the right place (no hurry, yet).
