Do you really need a mobile?

Do you NEED a mobile?  I know baby's probably like to look at them, but the mobile that comes with the (already expensive) bedding set I want, is $60.....worth it?

    DS hated his mobile, if anything I think it freaked him out. I never used it and probably won't put it up for this baby either.

    I bought one and wish I had not.  There isnt a good way to attach it to my crib (because there are no straight edges and I dont want to mount it to the wall.    So, now it is in a bag in the closet...with the bumper that wont get used.

    I didn't get them one, and now wish I had. They both love to sleep in their swing that has a mobile and light. It makes going to bed so much easier!!! Some nights I have to cheat and let one fall asleep in the swing.

    no, you really dont. you could also look on craigslist, i see some on there often.
