Re: Anyone's LO start pointing after 11 months?

  • DS didn't start pointing until after a year, but DH and I don't really point to things ourselves.

Our pedi said the milestone is actually something like "indicates what they want with a gesture," which for most children is a point and grunt type thing.

oh ok, if it's grunting then she's got that down pat:)

  • Adam didn't do it until after his 18 month appointment, but he was also late doing so.
  • DS just started doing this and he's 14 months.

  • I'm not sure when DS started pointing - but he does it now.  That was one of the questions they asked at his 12 mo appointment.

  • DS doesn't point yet.  He just started clapping about 10 days ago.
  • she didn't start pointing until right before 15 months.  and it was on her milestone check sheet from the pedi, so i figured it was normal that that's when she started!

  • I think DD started pointing for real at 13-14 months.

  • He started right before he turned 1.  We were so excited, but he stopped talking and just pointed at everything instead.  We've been working on getting him to talk again, which he's starting to do more just last week, after lots of prompting.
