My son has been drinking a lot more milk that usual and now his diapers the past couple days have been really almost white with white pieces and I haven't been worried about it because he's been eating fine, but now he's not really wanting to eat much. Anyone have experience with this?
Re: White liquid instead of normal stool?
I would definitely give a call to the pedi, or the nurse line. White stool isn't normal, according to this mayoclinic article.
It's probably not something serious like the article suggests, but I'd still call just in case!
I wanted to add if your LO is on meds, according to the article, this can be common.
My ds was like that for a few days last week. He wasn't eating, had one day of white liquid poo. No fever, played fine, everything else was ok. I had a similar virus the week before. I figured he got it from me. It passed in about 2-3 days. He's fine now.
Couldn't hurt to call your pedi.
White stools indicate a lack of bile which is what colors poop brown. You should call the pedi and see what they say.
white mucus in stool can also be the fats his body is not absorbing. my sis is glueton intollerant, and before she was diagnosed, she had a ton of white mucus in her stool (or instead of stool).
