Please help a gal out. I have a HUGE living room window. Like 9 feet long. How the heck to I find a rod for it? Do I need to hang two rods side by side? Also, if I want to hang sheers and curtains do I need double rods?? Anyone know?
9 feet isn't _that_ long. You should be able to find something on target.com. If you want something higher end you can find it on the internet. I have some curtain rods from Kirsch that I like. Of course, pottery barn, restoration hardware, crate & barrel would also have rods in this size.
If you want sheers and curtains then yes you need a double rod.
I have a 14foot rod I got at Target! Lowes, HD and BB&B all have long length ones as well. And I use the shower curtain-esque type rings to hang my curtains, so both drapes and sheers can go on there. Good luck!

Thanks! 9 feet was a guesstimate (I guess the first step would be to actually measure the thing, eh?) But it seems huge to me. Here's a pic:
And the rings are an interesting idea. How do you do that?
We found a long rod at Bed Bath & Beyond, but we had to put an extra support in the middle because it bowed. You can use a long rod or something like this
You HAVE to use a support for a rod that long, or it will droop and could actually pull from the wall...
these are clip rings...
You can use those to hang sheers and a heavier treatment, or use a double rod... I use clip rings almost everywhere, because I often use other materials (like sheets, runners, pillowcases, etc) as window treatments... these are wood, but they come in all sort of finishes.... I prefer polished steel or brass

Depending on your window moulding, you can also hang individual rods inside each window/moulding. I can find a picture of what I mean if you want.
