I spent 2 hours in L&D today. I'm a teacher and I realized that I hadn't felt LO at all this AM which is unusual. So I ate a an apple and drank some juice while I was on breakfast duty, and still nothing. So I drank some super cold water and waited another hour. After 4 hours and still no movement I called my Ob and of course he sent me over to L&D.
it took the nurse about 2 minutes to find her heartbeat, but it was there. I feel silly for going in, but I would have gone crazy in another hour without knowing she was OK.
My OB was very nice about the whole thing. He looked at the tracing and said that if I was in the office with a tracing like that he would have sent me to L&D anyway. And it is better to be safe than sorry.
The only good thing is I got all the questions about my birth plan and needs answered.
Re: My turn to go to L&D
I did the same thing...twice.
You're right, better to be safe than sorry!
