How often to feed?

I've been looking about but I don't see any questions really like this.. My DS (11 wks) has started eating a lot less frequently. Is this common? He'll sometimes go 5 hours without eating, but still acts hungry after he's completely emptied both sides...

I'm a little confused...he acts hungry but still goes 5 hours between feedings?  Are you saying he acts hungry right after feeding but then "forgets about it" and doesn't act hungry again for 5 hours or so?

At some point around 2-3 months of age my son stopped crying or really acting hungry so I just had to make sure I was feeding him every three hours since he wouldn't 'tell' me that he was hungry.  He is a pretty laid back baby, not sure if they are all like that.  But if your DS is emptying both sides and acting hungry I would feed him more frequently to make sure he eats at least 5 times a day.
