My first preference for DD's birthday party is only available on Sunday, Feb 14th. Would you go to a kid's birthday party on Valentine's Day? Or is that reserved for family/loved-ones?
I would, but we don't celebrate Valentine's. So it wouldn't be a big deal here.
Plus, I would think for those that DO celebrate it... most don't celebrate ALL day and could spare a couple of hours for a bday party, right? I don't know, just guessing.

Agree with PP - late morning or early afternoon I would totally go. Anything that would interfere with evening/dinner/date night plans or the couple hours leading up to it I wouldn't go.
oh, totally! IMHO Valentine's Day isn't a huge family type of holiday. DH and I usually don't even go out to dinner on that night, we prefer to go on a less busy night.
Definitely. The only thing we ever do for V-Da y is go out to dinner. It is a pretty lame holiday IMO - we would have no hesitation going to a birthday party that day.

I would definitely go but we don;t make a huge deal out of valentine's day. but even if we did, as long as it was during the day (so we could go out at night as a couple:) I would be totally fine with it.

DD#2's bday is Feb. 11th (she was due on Valentine's Day!). We are having 2 family parties for her. I made a conscious effort to NOT have one on Valentine's Day. So, we will be having one on the 6th & one on a week night. Even though Sundays are optimal days for us to have a party (since DH works Mon-Sat), I didn't want to have one on Valentine's Day. To me, people want to be able to do their own thing that day. I know that DH & I will be having a "date night" that night & going out to dinner.
