Pump trouble

I use my pump everyday, and just now when I went to pump for the first time today, the suction is hardly there.  I tried unplugging everything, and I pumped for 25 min. with only 2 oz.  And I'm still full of course!  What should I do?  What could the problem be?

Medela Pump in Style is what I have.

Re: Pump trouble

  • Make sure that all the parts are put together correctly, i have took it apart to wash it and forgot a part which caused that. and make sure that your bra or article of clothing is not in the breast shield...thats the only times that personal happened to me that caused low suction....GL!

  • I wish I could help, but I'm not familiar with the PIS.  Is there any way you can manually express or manually pump?  With the Lactina I use, I simply take the "pump" piece off and attach it directly to the bottle to pump manually.

These 2 things as well as:

    - Are the membranes folded back off of the valve? If so you need to replace the membranes (call medela and they will mail you some for free).

    - Is there a whole in your tubing?

    - Did you forget the valves? Don't laugh- I've done that one before in my sleep deprieved thinking.
