Now that we have weaned Grey from formula we have been doing the whole milk thing. I was thinking about switching hom to 2% since that is what Elle drinks. I will ask the pedi on Thursday but I was wondering if anyone else was going with the lower fat milk?
Re: Does anyone give their 1 YO 2% instead of whole milk?
My pedi says this also
The AAP revised its position on whole milk

yup- our pedi had us start Griffin on whole milk- just so he'd transition easier- then after a few weeks switch to 2%. He was in the 95th percentile for weight/height - so didn't need the extra fat - b/c he was a good eater otherwise (table food).
We recently switched him to 1% - b/c he still eats great - i don't see any need for the extra fat since 1% still has a good amount. My pedi said that is fine.
ditto this they need the fat for brain development whole milk yogurt also, not low-fat
Our pedi told me to give DS 2% at 12 mos. He has been in the 90-97th% tile for height/ weight since he was born, though. Also, as the pp started, the views on whole milk have been updated.
