Clicking Noise?

Recently DS has been making a clicking noise when he nurses.  Is this an incorrect latch problem or another concern that something is not right? This is my first and breastfeeding has been much more challenging than I thought!

  • I read that clicking can be a bad latch, but in my experience, it's just the noise she made! As long as there isn't additional or new pains, I wouldn't worry about it.

  • it can be all of the above. BUT sometimes (in rare cases) it can also be caused by tongue tie and sometimes is a symptom of thrush.

  • the clicking noise is from a bad latch. basically they are sucking their own tongue instead of your boob. their tongue she be out and curled under your boob where their lip is. take her off & re-latch her. you can make the noise yourself by clicking your tongue against the roof of your mouth.
