re: tucks...a little discovery

I would like to add to the posts about post baby down there care.  When I went to stock up on "supplies" I found near the TUCKS, witch hazel wipes.  These are the same size as always or baby wipes, so they will give you more coverage than tucks will.

I went ahead and got both, but I think that the larger wipes will work better than having to use multiple tucks pads on top of your maxi pads. I am planning on adding a little more witch hazel to them before popping the pack in the freezer.

They are the preparation H brand, but I got the wal mart brand "equate" ones for half the cost.

Hope this helps!

  • Typically what section can you find the Tucks wipes in?  I haven't seen them yet and would love to get some.  TIA

  • another money saving idea my birth class instructor gave us is for DIY tucks pads, you could get some of those round cotton disks they sell for makeup removal, put them in a container, and hose them down with witch hazel, which you can get in a big bottle.

and with whatever type of witch hazel pad/wip you use, she also suggested when you put them in the maxi pad to scrunch them up rather than just lay them on like pepperoni, so that they work up into your nooks and crannies.

They are by the antacids and all that fun stuff at my Target.  I just went with Tucks because I had a buy 2 get $4 off coupon.

I use these larger wipes, and I love them! Cannot live without them, in fact. I have a little plastic container that they live in, and then I just buy the refills. I also buy the store brand; they're usually less than half as much. They also have "single serving" travel ones that are individually wrapped -- I throw those in my purse for "going" on the go. I've only found the Preparation H brand for the travel ones.

I also second the PP who talked about using cotton rounds and straight witch hazel. Works like a charm!
