Maybe not a tip, but something to keep in mind!
When I had DD, during the childbirth classes, the instructor gave a bunch of pointers about what to do if you were having back labor. It turns out, I was in back labor - but no one told me! I didn't have an epi (for the first 12 hours) and the contractions were double instead of single, which didn't give me any break.
Since I didn't know about the double peaks = back labor, I couldn't use any fancy techniques. My OB told me about it at my 6 week follow-up, saying she couldn't believe I lasted 12 hours in back labor without an epi.
Anyway, just wanted to share, if you see double peaks (i.e. contraction, partial decline and then another contraction), you may want to ask if you are in back labor to take advantage of your techniques
Re: Can I share a tip? (Re: birth)
lol...and what are some techniques...i um, fell asleep during my birthing class with DS when we were covering that
LOL, I was just in a shiitload of pain
I guess I didn't realize that it was focused more in the back than the front.
Are you calling me an idiot
I thought the tip might be to share the techniques? Counter pressure is all I can think of.
I never saw any tape when I delivered DS. All I knew is they were constantly 2mins apart, lasting for a minute so I barely got a break as it was.
