so does anyone have any short getaway reccomendations for the east coast? we are in jersey. i am thinking maybe in late february/early march.

There are a bunch of little ski resorts around the DC area.  It's not like skiing out west but it's an easy drive for you.  Here's a site that has a map

thanks i will check that out. i also just found a B&B called Eagles Mere Inn in PA that sounds fun.
