I have been bf'ing my second child and I'm so happy it's going much better than the first time around. She typically eats every three hours or so, sometimes only one side, sometimes one side plus some of the other. The last few days I've been leaking a good amount. Today one side started leaking only two hours after feeding from that side.
Is my body still regulating how much milk I need? I don't want to pump at all because I want my body to figure it out, but I'm soaking through my pads and not wanting to be stuck in public with two circles on my shirt:)
Any advice? Thanks a lot! ( Very new to this board and I love it!)
Re: Leaking... a lot. When does the supply regulate?
I still leak a little bit here and there, but never as much as you mentioned. Sometimes I can stop the leaking by pressing in on my nipple when I feel letdown starting. I only have to hold it for about 30 seconds or so and then I don't leak (til the next letdown)
If you're not feeling letdown or that doesn't work, then I'm really not sure. Would changing your pads more often help? I know there are also breast pads out there that collect the leaking milk, which, if you're leaking a lot, might be helpful. Sorry I can't remember what they're called!
Ditto this. I leaked a lot until around 6-8 weeks, I think. Now, it's only once in a while.

This was the same for me....I stopped wearing nursing pads around 13 months. In the beginning I also changed pads many times a day.
