Blayne Alan 2 weeks early! long Birth story

from my blog:

a week ago today...

I was 38 weeks and t was 1:45am and I was sleeping having some sort of dream when all the sudden I started peeing my pants. I woke up with a start and smacked Trent and with a panic he said, "what?!" Clearly embarrassed at peeing myself I quickly replied, "bad dream...." but the pee continued to flow. So I jumped out of bed and all the sudden it was Niagra falls in my pants. This was not pee. "MY WATER JUST BROKE!" So Trent flips out of bed and we start running around the house packing up our things like crazy people. I ran to the bathroom to let the rest of my water come out and Trent yelled, "don't give birth on the toilet!!" (completely serious...one too many TV dramas for him? haha) I called my doctor who told me to come right in and then I called my mom. The contractions started immediately and felt like dull period cramps. "Are you ready!? Lets go!!" Trent was still convinced I was about to give birth any moment. "These things take time.." I informed him..."and I want to put on some makeup first!" So I started putting on my makeup and then the contractions started getting worse so we quickly got into the car and drove to the hospital.
When I arrived at the hospital I was started to feel the pain (contractions) and when checked I was at 3cm. Eventually I begged for the epidural because the pain was so bad. I thought I was going to throw up. Finally a saint entered the room...we'll call him the anesthesiologist, and he shoved a foot long needle into my back. After about 15 minutes I was completely numb below the waist and feeling good. I even took a long nap. 3 hours later the nurse came back in to check me and I was at 7cm. Where was my mom?? She was lost in Minneapolis! So Trent and I continued to nap and a few hours later the nurse came back in and I was fully dilated and ready to push. Still no mom! 1/2 hour later She FINALLY got there (with my sister) and we were ready to go. The nurse asked me for a practice push and I pretended to poop b/c I couldn't feel much and thats what I've heard you're supposed to do. "Well theres the head...we better call in the Doctor!" and when the doctor came in Trent grabbed one leg and the nurse grabbed another and I bursted into tears. "whats wrong?" they all asked. "I'm afraid of the pain!" I said even though I was numb. "Well sometimes the epidural doesn't reach the skin down there..." said the doctor. BITCHES! So with that, I pushed again. The pressure was intense but I didn't feel any pain. "Guys I don't feel good" Trent was looking pale as a ghost and he thought he was going down. The nurse brought him in some juice and my mom took his spot holding my leg. "don't worry I'll take care of Trent if he passes out," My sister--looking pale herself--informed me. "One more push and he is here!" said the doctor. So I gave a final push and out came Blayne Alan with a spectacular entry peeing all over the doctor. The doctor asked Trent if he wanted to cut the cord which he did and I started bawling tears of joy as they handed me my son. I couldn't believe what I had just done. "we made this beautiful baby" I told Trent. It was all very emotional. Overall the labor was 6 hours only and Blayne was 7lbs 11oz and 20.5 inches long with a FULL head of blonde hair. All the nurses said they have never seen a little boy with so much blonde hair.
