BF has been going great since day one, but for the last week or so my nipples have been getting progressively more sore. Usually I can't even feel her on me, and now I cringe every time she nurses. I don't think it's thrush, because there are no other symptoms... I'm wondering if she's developed a bad latch, because she almost seems to be "gumming" my nipple, like she's not opening wide enough and almost chewing on my nipple. It seems like she's not taking my nipple in far enough. I know she's teething right now, so I'm thinking that might have something to do with it?
Any suggestions? How do I get her to resume her usual good latch? I've tried waiting for her mouth to be wide and then quickly sticking my nipple as far back as I can, but she just pushes the nipple forward as soon as it's in her mouth, and continues to "gum" it. Please help - my nipple are killing me here!
