Contraction confusion

.... Okay... So I've heard so many different things about contractions... and I would just look it up, but I want to be one of those people who is too lazy to and just posts the damn repetitive question. LOL So what exactly am I looking for when looking for the start of contractions?

    I have decided that I have no idea what the answer is.  I am hoping that I "will just know" because otherwise, I am effed.

    The best way I can explain is: horrible period cramps X1000.. Along with your whole ute cramping up! Fun stuff

    Menstrual type cramping and a rock hard stomach are the best indicators. I am with lulu on this one too. You will know when you are having the real painful ones. Some ladies have them and don't even notice.

    See I'm worried about that last part there.. Back before I got pregnant, man, my menstrual cramps were crippling, to the point if I didn't catch my period in it's beginning stages with pain meds and heat pads, I would be out of commission for few hours while the meds kicked in, like I would be to the point of tears and soft shaking because they hurt so bad. I'm just worried my contractions won't be that bad and I won't notice I am having them....
