who has hanging wooden letters in the nursery?

if you do, what are the actual size of the letters? I know the ribbon will add some length, unsure if I go with 8 inches if it will seem too "big" or if the 6 inch will seem too small. Thanks!

I hung my daughter Natalie's name up and I'm pretty sure I went with the 6in which I think was the perfect size. Any bigger and it would be too much. If I could figure out how to post pics up on my profile I'll put one up. My MIL & I made it and came out absolutely beautiful!
