inevitably, LO wants to cluster feed after I pump

I still put him to the boob, and I know he's getting something, but is he getting enough? I pump to supplement his feedings, should I give him that to satiate him?  I never want to -- I always want to nurse him instead so that i make more.  We use a shield sometimes because he has a killer latch on one side, so my LC said to pump for supplementing and to protect my supple.

Re: inevitably, LO wants to cluster feed after I pump

  • After I pumped my LO wanted to feed because of the milk smell that was lingering around. I just let her because it will make my boobs that more empty and will have more later on. As long as your little one has the required amount of wet diapers you should be good. If you see DS is not then I would do the supplementation.

  • Same thing happens to me.  I was thinking maybe it was the smell of it.
