Oatmeal eaters!

I'm trying to eat oatmeal daily now, and am just curious what kinds you eat!

I bought a box of McCann's steel cut oatmeal. I add a sliced banana and a sprinkle of brown sugar.

Re: Oatmeal eaters!

  • I eat the quakers oatmeal and cook it with 2 percent and I add a sprinkle of brown sugar, a tsp or two of reg sugar, cinnamon, and sometimes a half a handful of granola.

  • Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies,lol :)
  • I eat the quaker oats instant oatmeal in the packets that come in different flavors (brown sugar, etc) and then I add some additional plain oatmeal into it since i find the packet is a small portion!  I'm hoping it helps!!

  • Old Fashioned Quaker Oats Heart Healthy serving. Cook in water (since I'm dairy free for DS), a handful of raisins, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon (for antioxidants), 1/2 apple or pear chopped or cut up banana, handful of chopped toasted pecans, a little sugar, and some dairy free coffee creamer or almond milk.

  • I eat the Quaker Oat Quick Oats and put a huge spoonful of peanut butter (for protein) and some frozen blueberries.

  • I eat the Organic Steel Cut Oatmeal from Jewel.  I usually put way too much brown sugar in it.  I love it but it does take about 15 minutes to make.  I usually make a big batch and then freeze.

  • Does it make a difference if you eat the instant oatmeal or regular?
  • I make a batch of steel cut oatmeal in the crockpot about once a week. (My three year old loves it as well.)These are my typical add ins. Not all together. I always add flaxseed meal to each bowl.

    I add in:

    raspberries

    blueberries

    flaxseed meal

    brown sugar

    syrup

pumpkin butter, pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices

almond butter (great extra protein source)

  • Made some baked oatmeal last night for breakfasts this week and oatmeal-choc chop lactation cookies for snacks/dessert!
