I was sitting on the couch with DH when all the sudden I was wet. It wasn't a lot of liquid but it wasnt just a trickle either. I laid down for a while and then stood up and I'm not "dripping" so I guess I just pee'd myself. I was hopping that my water had broken and we could get this show on the road.

Does it smell like urine?  If not, it could be amniotic fluid.

Don't they say you are more likely to leak while laying down?  And when you stand up the baby's head acts as a stopper of sorts to plug the leak.  Maybe you are leaking.  Have you tried lying down again?

If it happens again at all and you can't peg it as urine, call your doctor.  I'm sure I'll be that girl who goes to L&D at least once for false labor or a false leak.  But, I'd much rather have people laughing as I walk out the door than rushing me in due to an emergency.  My SIL went once for a "false leak" and the nurses all told her she did the right thing.

yea it sure sounds like an amniotic leak...you would know if you pee'd your self. 

i would call l&d and have them swab. i had the same situation with DS and i 'leaked' all night and the next morning my water broke hard core.

 yes, lie down again...

I pee myself every time I sneeze or laugh. I go through a ton of pairs of underwear a day! It sucks!

But if your thinking it is your water. They can do a quick swab test at the hospital. Thats how I had my son at 39 weeks. Thought my water was leaking and went in. It was not leaking, but found out the cord was around Caelen's neck and causing huge problems. So I was induced.

better to be safe than sorry.  with my first pg i was laying down and had a sudden gush of fluid.  i went on to the er. it turned out to be a bladder infection.  the fluid didnt smell at all so thats why i went on to the er.  id call your dr.
