thought i was having contractions this AM

So I woke up at 3:55am today with HORRIBLE stomach pains.  I didnt know whether these were contractions or not ( I am still unsure if I have had BH contractions or not yet?)  DH started getting worried and asked me to tell him everytime that it hurt really bad.  It was about every 5-7 minutes that my stomach was in really bad pain.  It honestly felt like major stomach "issues" and all I wanted to do was go to the bathroom.  My MIL came over too...we are really close and she has been a L & D nurse for like 20 years.  She told me that the real contractions would make my belly really hard and firm and she didnt feel it getting that firm at all when I was in pain...Finally at about 5:30am I did go "to the bathroom" and  feltsoooo  much better even though I still kinda think maybe I was having BH contractions and am still experiencing some pain like I think they would feel...

Long story short, I was kind of disappointed b/c I really was ready to go to the hospital.  Has this happened to anyone...do you think I was having contractions, or do you think this was just a stomach ache??

Even if you haven't felt BH, you've had them by now.  They could've been BH but they shouldn't hurt.  I've had days and days of timeable BH contractions these past two weeks, but nothing ever comes of them.  They aren't horribly painful though since they aren't the real thing.  I can tell the difference between my uterine pain and my stomach/bowel pain...just try to relax and maybe next time you'll be able to tune in to what it is.  Good luck!

Sounds like you were having digestive issues, and that can trigger BH contractions.  Either way, I totally understand thinking something is going on and getting disappointed when it turns out to not be.  Looks like you are getting close though, by your ticker!

I was having similar feelings last night, but my belly was also hard.  I am pretty sure mine was BH that are starting to get more intense as baby's arrival gets closer.
