3rd Trimester

Clothes for little one...

I'm trying to organize gifts and stuff we have gotten for our little one on the way. Being a first time Mom, I have lots of questions!

How much clothing/onesies do we need to have for 0-3 month size. Right now I maybe have 4 onesies and 2 outfits. I feel like this is not enough.

Any suggestions on how much clothing to buy? We are having a boy and he is due March 26th...Thanks for all your help!

  • I had at least a dozen onsies 0-3 months and we deffinately used them allllll the time. Everytime they eat or poop it seems like the onsie gets poop or spit up on it, so you are changing their clothes like 4 times in a 24 hour block. I would say lots of onsies, sleepers, and one peice outfits. Never mind the cutsie stuff for that age, he will hardly ever wear it. Focus on having comfortable things for hime for the first few months.

oh, and I found that OldNavy onsies are best because the head hole is stretchy and fit well over my sons big head! LOL :)

  • I don't think that's enough considering you may need to change their clothes 2-3 Or more times a day!

But, I also don't know how many you should have@

  • Lots of moms suggested to me the sleeper gowns that have elastic at the bottom.

Many also said you don't want to have too much in that size because it usually goes up to about 12 pounds and depending on how big LO is when they are born, they may only wear that size for a couple weeks.

  • I agree w/ PP.  Have plenty of onsies and sleepers.  12 of each should be good.  Outfits for this stage are impractical and while maybe a few are good for special outings, not neccessary at all.  Sleepers/Rompers are fine to do everyday outings and are easier and comfy for LO.

But this is a good point too... wondering if I need to get more onsies!

  • I would say you need some more too, but I've found that even up until now people have been giving me clothing... as of 32 weeks I didn't have much, so I went out and bought some and now that people have given me more in the last couple weeks I will most likely have too many... I'd suggest wait until 37 weeks to buy what you need. I've also heard once LO is here, people will give you more clothing.
