3rd Trimester

Not as much movement at 36w

Who else noticed that the baby doesn't move as often late in pregnancy?

When she moves she will do 10 movements in an hour, but it is like she sleeps a lot more now than before and for longer periods.  And I can't always wake her up with headphones like I used to be able too.

Had an NST on Thur and Fri and going for another on Tue.  First doctor was going to send me for a stress test then the Fri Doctor just said to do kickcounts, and the second doctor agreed with me and said it is because she doesn't have as much room to move either anymore.

I guess the two different opinions from the same practice just makes me nervous.

  • My LO's movements haven't slowed down but they have changed from vigorous kicks to just pushing/rolling.

Just keep paying attention to movements, and do the kick counts.

Yes, pushing her butt up or tickeling.  Just not as often.  I swear the more I read on here the more I think I am a week or two farther along.  By the way your daughter has my name.

  • I have heard that this is pretty common since the baby is continuing to increase in size and space is getting pretty tight. However, my LO has continued to move around like crazy...his movements are just different than they were before. Earlier, he was kicking and punching away all day long and these days I get less feisty punches and kicks, lots of shifting, pushing sensations and rolling from him stretching and changing positions. It still a lot of movement these days for me, just not as many hard kicks and punches since he doesnt have as much space to do that.
