So apparently I have a yeast infection on my nipples, I got an antibiotic for me and DS. They said it is very hard to get rid of and I must steralize my pump and pacifiers daily also throw out and breast milk that your pump while infected. So, do I need to throw out milk that I have stored if I am not sure how long I have had the infection? I am not sure what to do with my freezer supply. I don't have a ton in there, but I have a few bags, I don't want to throw it all out, but I don't want to reinfect us both after the antibiotics. Help!?!?!

Re: Nipple Yeast Infection???
You have been given some terrible advice and bad information. So sorry about that. Thrush is very common and you'll get some good advice from the ladies on this board.
Antibiotics will cause thrush, not treat it.
It can be difficult to get rid of, but most women get rid of it on the first try.
The frozen milk should be used up now. It may or may not contain the yeast so its true you don't want to use it once you've cleared it up. But there's no reason to throw it out.
Sterilizing is a good idea. Vinegar in your wash will help too.
The big things that will help are Genitian Violet, Grapefruit seed Extract and Probiotics.
Good luck!
