Max is quickly learning, and testing his mommy's boundries and patience. "NO!" has been the word of the week. I know he is starting to understand it too, because he looks at me before doing the things I have said no to, in the past. (Past being 7 days, but it's in the past nonetheless!)

Nothing is safe! And guess what his favorite things to go after are?? CORDS, of the electrical variety. WTF?? Of all the shiny and sparkly things I keep around, what is so special about cords? Little buger. It only gets worse, doesn't it. You can tell me. you won't scare me!

As soon as Holden could crawl he started going for every cord in the place!   He just recently started losing interest (finally!)

Start the "one finger touching" rule now!!   He can touch those things as long as they're not dangerous like knives or electrical outlets or whatever, but only with one finger.  that allows them to still explore, but not ruin things.  and allows you to not say no all day long.   and for the things that you want to say no to, find a way to babyproof around it so you don't have to keep saying no.

Yeah, our computer cord is a hot item for Emmeline...after the third no (with loud clap), I had to move her away from it entirely. She was not happy, but it finally worked. And I noticed that the holidays I stayed home for four days at a stretch, E really tested me. I was ready to pull my hair out!

I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK!  Caden doesn't and has never gotten into much of anything that he wasn't supposed to.  We just said no once and he got the picture...but I know that isn't normal and we are nervous about Blake since our house is pretty far from childproofed

Um did I mention that cruz can climb on to the kitchen counters now and get anything on them?  And that if I tell him no he does it even faster?  at his toddler class yesterday we had to leave early because he wouldn't do circle time and was trying to climb into the drinking water fountain.  Not to mention this day...

whats so funny is that his bike is parked right at the sink. like he all drove up, got off his bike, and climed up into the sink!

i just got the one step ahead catalog in the mail yesterday.  i couldnt believe all the things you can baby-proof!
