DS choked on a piece of plastic

I swear to God I looked. I looked and looked before I sat him down, even though I clean religiously. I still didn't see it. He had his back to me and I noticed he was rocking funny and when I went to see what was up his face was purple. I did back blows, no go. I broke the CPR rules and stuck my finger in his mouth. I got it out on the second try.

His cry was weak for a minute and they we sobbed together. He's okay now (obviously, I'm posting) but sweet baby Jesus I've never been so scared in all of my life. The choices you have to make in those moments are not ones you can think about in the moment.?

I'm going to throw out all of the dog toys we have and get only get them Kongs so there isn't mystery plastic on the floor again.

That's so scary for both of you and I'm so glad he is okay.

I vacuum every day now, but that still isn't enough.  You cannot possibly find every piece of whatever on the floor.  It happens.

Way to go for using your instincts and saving your baby!

I'm so glad he's ok!  I've come to learn that no matter how proactive I am, there is always something I didn't see, think of, anticipate, close, clean, etc. and DS ALWAYS manages to find it.

It's honestly the most horrifying moment and I'm glad it's over and everything is okay. 

Cami actually had one of those plastic tags stuck in her throat for 30ish minutes and I had no clue.. she was coughing and swallowing funny.  I thought her throat hurt so I went to feed her yogurt and it must have given her something to get a hold of it better because she puked it right out.  Most horrifying moment of my life. 

I am so sorry. You are a good momma.  I am so glad all is okay.
