what do you do? I've made a list and have done my "set" items Monday through today. I'm wondering what I've left off the list or if there is a better way to organize myself. WDYT?
Sunday - make meal list for week, clean kitchen counters, straighten living room
Monday - grocery shop, dust living room, dust bedrooms, straighten bedrooms
Tuesday - sweep floors (we have mostly wood floors in our house), clean hardwood floors, straighten living room, laundry, clean kitchen counters
Wed - clean tile floors, clean bathrooms, pay bills
Thurs - change sheets, deep clean counters (take everything off and wipe under) straighten living room, empty trash cans around house
Fri - sweep floors, straighten bedrooms, laundry
We have two dogs, so sweeping is important, and I'd like to be done with everything by Friday at noon, so that DH and I don't have to clean once he's off for the weekend! Any advice?
Re: If you have a house cleaning routine,
Wow. I wish I had that kind of time!
I'm a full time working mom, with a very long commute, so...
Mon - Friday I just do as much as possible after putting the baby to bed. Keep up with the dishes and laundry. But, the only thing I force myself to do every Wednsday durning the week is sweep, mop, and vaccume, because DS runs all over the house, and we have dogs with lots of hair.
Sat - Sun I Sweep, mop and vaccume again, and try to do as much deep cleaning as possible untill DH gets home from work.
DH works 7 days a week, 12 hours on Mon - Friday. So, I'm on my own with the house cleaning.
I have been making the time. It's been forever since my house was clean, seriously. I'm finding that really picking up after yourself and cleaning as you go really makes a difference. Sounds simple, but I'm just now figuring out that it really is true! I feel great about myself and my house today because of the effort I've made.

that sounds great!
at my OOT house I do all my house work (laundry, vaccum, dust/wipe down, clean sink/toilet/tub) on wenesdays since I come home Thursdays after class
at home, on fridays I vaccum the entire house, clean the kitchen (empty/load dishwasher, wipe counters, clean sink) and clean the bathroom. sundays we do H and LO's laundry along with towels and bedding and H washes the laminate. Our hardwood only gets washed once a mth. Sunday is also meal prep for the week.
Having 2 houses to clean sucks but as long as H picks up during the week at home we're ok.
I've been trying to get a cleaning routine down but DH never sticks to his side of it and I'm a spiteful person so I just quit doing mine, too.
Yours is very impressive! ::taking notes::
Looks great. Having a clean, well organized home makes me feel so good.
I tend to focus on one room/day. (Mon: kitchen, Tues: bathrooms, etc.) because that helps me stay focused and really clean that space well... I'm kind of ADD otherwise. But, that's just me.
before DD came along we had a good routine, we need to start this schedule again so there is not so much to do on the weekends, it worked really well for us bc the kitchen was cleaned everynight after dinner, and the living room was cleaned everyother night.
Mon:Me- kitchen, load of towels. DH- living room
Tues Me- master bathroom, load of colors. DH- kitchen
Wed: Me- Kitchen, load of delicates DH- living room
Thur: Me- guest bath, load of towels DH- kitchen
Fri: Me- kitchen, wash DH uniforms. DH- living room
Sat & sun- we both cleaned the kitchen and master bedroom
