Friday's off - best way to store milk Thurs to Mon

I just started back at work this week and will be working from home on Fridays. This week I've brought what I've pumped to daycare the following day and I plan to nurse tomorrow (and through the weekend). 5 days in the fridge seems like it's pushing it to me but I don't want to freeze it just to take it down again a few days later. Do you think fridge or freezer is better? (and if the answer is freezer, can I freeze the type of bottles I bring to daycare like Born Free/Dr. Brown's or do I need to switch to bags and back to bottles again?)

  • I think 5 days will be fine in the fridge.

  • I'd just keep it in the fridge.  It's good for 8 days in there so I save myself the hassle.  I usually use freezer bags and have never frozen milk in any bottles so I'm not sure about the Dr. Browns.  Enjoy being off on Fridays!  I'm jealous!

  • Freshly expressed breast milk can stay in the fridge for up to 8 days.  I would just keep it in the fridge over the w/e.

  • The milk can stay in the fridge, but I use Monday's as my day to rotate the freezer stash. What I pump on Thursday/Friday (I work from home every other Friday) goes into the freezer and on Monday DS has frozen milk.
  • Just put it in the back if you are nervous
  • i also have fridays off.  i read on here that someone said she freezes her friday milk and gives LO defrosted frozen milk on mondays to rotate her freezer stash.  i thought that was a pretty good idea and i think i'll do that with the milk i pump on thursdays.
