Thank you. RE: Aven's name. Also, desmerelda317....

Thank you all for your kind words about Aven's name.  I love it.  I never would have named her wickedness on purpose.  I love and adore her name.

And des.....I am a Christian too.  I have never seen that or read that verse before either.  I am shocked, and sad, and don't know how we missed that.  I am choosing for Aven (my Aven) to redeem the name.  She is my radiant flower.  The end.  And yes, my brother is mean.

  • I'm glad that my reply, and the replies of the other ladies, made you feel better.  Like you said, your daughter is your radiant flower, end of story :)  Lots of names can have double meanings.  Lots of things in life can have double meanings.  You have to choose to focus on the good side of things!

  • I think her name is beautiful.

  • I think she has a beautiful name.  And look at that face!!!  Who's going to see that and think "wickedness"?

FWIW, DH and I have a funny meaning story about one of our boys' names.  Benjamin means "son of my right hand" and David means "beloved" so he is the beloved son of [DH's} right hand, which we laugh about because he is an IVF baby (yes, DH retrieved his "deposit" himself Big Smile)!  No one else has noticed the funny, but we laugh about it sometimes.

I've always loved the name and this wouldn't be funny at all if he weren't conceived via IVF!

  • I love the name james and my first son's middle name is James.  It means supplanter, but has been redeemed by the old testament.  I forget the other meaning.  :)
