I can't believe I am going to go to a FITNESS CENTER. I hate working out. With a passion. But I want this last 10 lbs. gone ASAP and my at-home yoga DVDs just aren't cutting it.
Soooo. I think I found a center I like. Do I show up ready to work out? In my workout clothes? And what the hell should I wear?) Or should bring a bag with my clothes? Will they give me a tour or something? Show me how machines work? What else should I bring/know ahead of time?
Help me overcome my fears, ladies. I really need to do this, as much as I don't want to.
Re: <sigh> I have a fitness center question.
Before DD I worked part time at a fitness center, now I just fill in when they need help and this way I keep a free membership. Yes, you can wear your cloths there the frist day they will have to sign paper work and get that stuff set up. Our gym always give tours not sure about where you are going but you can always ask them to and I am sure they will most gyms do, you can also ask for help from the people who work there thats what they are there for and they will explain anything you need. One thing is wear old shoes in and bring gym shoes most gyms don't want you wearing outside shoes in the gym expecially in winter. If you have any more questions let me know.
oh ya wear comfortable cloths. I always wear yoga or work out pants and t-shirts.
(I used to work at the YMCA)
Usually they'll ask you if you want a tour. If they don't, ask. They'll have no problem doing this (chances are you will get them out of doing work they don't want to be doing lol).
You can show up ready or get ready there. It's up to you.
I always showed up ready and brought a change of clothes to change into afterward. I usually swam so I showered there when I was done (I had a locker with all my stuff showering stuff, but you don't need one...it's very convenient though).
You can wear whatever your heart desires. You'll want to avoid jeans obviously. I wore gym shorts and a tank top, but really it's whatever you're comfortable wearing. You'll want a nice pair of tennis shoes.
