I need to make baby legs...

I can't find any to fit DD with her chubby thighs & all. But since we are potty training, I'd rather not go thru every single pair of pants she has (along with the undies) each day.  So, I figure I should make some baby legs for her (less likely to get soaked). It's been so cold here I don't want her to be nearly naked!

 Any pointers? I have some left over Irish cable knit I could possibly use - but I don't knit, so I'd just have to hand sew a seam down the side??

I've made some using knee socks. It's pretty easy if you sew. I'll try to find a tutorial I've used....
