Biting... OUCH

My DS has had his two bottom teeth for about 3 weeks now and has been biting me off and on.

I've taken advice from people about this:

finger between his gums, separate, and gently say "no biting".

stop nursing and wait 10 mins

I dont know what else to do. It hasn't worked.. and he's a baby that lingers/grazes to eat (has been since day one).

Any advice? I don't want to wean yet, and I don't think he's ready either.

  • Keep taking him off, but maybe wait longer than 10 minutes to resume nursing.  He may bite because he is done or no longer interested.

DS bites me and I take him off and put him on the floor to play after saying NO BITE firmly.  I will nurse him again but only when he shows interest.

We do the same thing.  DS only bites when he doesn't want to nurse anymore.  I am pretty firm with the "no biting" when he does bite and I usually put him down and wait for him to come to me and show he wants to nurse.
