Has anyone successfully done just one nursing per day?

I don't think I like my pumping situation. Its in a bathroom and it is the only place to go and I hate it. Is there anyway to continue to just nurse DD in the mornings and/or evenings? I read on kellymom that it is but I don't know how to start.

  • Ick, I hate pumping in the bathroom. It's plan C for me at work. I just wanted to commiserate with you. My girlfriend stopped pumping when her kids turned one but nursed at home until they were 18 months so it can be done. Hopefully someone on here can help with the how to.

  • Definitely.  Your body will adjust to the demand.

The best thing to do is to slowly cut out sessions to avoid the risk of plugged ducts/mastitis.  When I cut down I dropped a session every 5 days or so. So do that until you've cut down to where you want to be.

I've been doing two sessions (morning and before bed) since DS was around 13 months and am recently down to one session in the past few weeks.
