Those who pump @ work?....

Do you clean your parts in the breakroom sink? Or do you have a new seperate set of of sheilds, membranes etc.. for the next pumping. When I was at home I would always clean them and set them on the counter for later. It would be a big deal to have the parts sitting out at work. Can I just steam them at night for the next day?

TIA

  • I use one set for all three of my pumpings. I just keep them in a ziplock bag in the fridge.

    This.

Is it safer to stick them in the fridge?

If so I'll put them in the little cooler Where I keep what I pumped.

  • I rinse them with hot water and then put them back in my cooler. I steam them at night.

  • You can put them in a bag and refrigerate and re-use them for a 24 hour period.  I have a friend who just bags her parts at work and doesn't refrigerate them; she figures if milk can stay out at room temp for 8 hours that her parts can, too.  I hadn't really thought about it that way - but it makes sense!
  • I rinse them out with hot water between sessions, dry them as much as I can, and then put them in a ziploc bag until the next use. Then I wash them and air dry them overnight.
