Question for moms who were on SSRIs during pregnancy

Did you stay on your SSRI throughout the entire pregnancy?  If so, did you notice any withdrawal problems with your baby? 

I'm just trying to gather information.  I'm currently on 50mg of Zoloft daily, and I'm not sure if I should try to go down to 25mg or wean off completely before I give birth.  My psychiatrist says it is up to me, but he usually recommends weaning a few weeks before birth.  My OB says most of his patients stay on their meds the entire time and are fine.  I still have to talk to a pediatrician, but I wanted to hear some first hand experience.

I stayed on mine during my pregnancy, and am currently nursing. My OB said it's fine. They actually increased my dosage during pregnancy from 100 mg to 150 mg, since your blood volume doubles, it takes more medicine to have the same affect on your body. I didn't do that until I started feeling more anxious again, and talked to my dr about it. I am now going back to my normal dosage. My baby was born perfectly healthy and is doing great.

I was on 20 mg of Prozac for most of the pregnancy, except for a couple of months when I went down to 10. I started getting anxious, though, so I went back up to 20. My baby is perfect and sleeps really well:)

Thanks for the reassurance!  I didn't even think about how blood volume may be affecting my meds...

I was on 20 mg of Prozac throughout PG. As far as i know LO doesn't have any problems.
