How do YOU pronounce Emeline?

I know how >I< pronounce it, and how I would want to pronounce it, but I also know that there is an alternate way to pronounce it. I've seen pronunciation guides go both ways. I'm just trying to get a sense of how likely it is that I/my kid would be constantly correcting pronunciation.

Same here! I wasn't sure if the person said "Emma-LEEN" or "Emma-LINE" until I spoke w/her boss, and she said it's Emma-LEEN.... I was glad I knew before I talked w/her.

Anyway, I think b/c it's not a common name, people will have to be corrected. I've dealt w/it my entire life. No big deal. That's a beautiful name...

I would say M-E-Lynn.  I knew a girl named Emme who's name was pronounced M-E, which is why I would say it that way.

Seems to be slightly more "lean" than "line" out there, but it's split almost evenly. I pronounce it, and would pronounce it, "emma-line." (Like Ben Folds does in the song Emaline, if there are any fans out there.)

My mom's name is Emelie, spelled that way, and I've always loved the idea of Emeline for a daughter, in honor of my mom. Thanks!

One of my friends has a baby named Emmeline and it's pronounced Emma-line. I much prefer that to the -lean pronunciation.
