I've been telling people who want to throw me showers that they need to be done in January, when I'll be 24-27 weeks. At first I wasn't even going to allow any showers before the babies were born b/c I was so paranoid, but since things are going so well and I'm so close to 24 weeks I'm feeling a little safer. (plus it's fun playing with my registries!). I know I'll be huge and uncomfortable, and will run the risk of being on bedrest, during that timeframe, but I figure it's either got to happen this month or after the babies are born, b/c I can't imagine being able to tolerate a shower after 28 weeks, and I'm sure to be on bedrest by that point!
any thoughts?? what worked for you?
Re: triplet moms - shower timing?
1.) I am not a triplet mom, and
2.) I think I am a wimp but
I am so glad my first shower was no later than 28 weeks. By my shower at 29 weeks, I was pretty uncomfortable. My advice would be to schedule them as close to 24 weeks as possible so you can actually enjoy it and not be too uncomfortable during it.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
not a triplet- but a mom who missed her shower for her singleton b/c she was in the hospital- and that SUCKED.
My friends were kind enough to throw me a "sprinkle" shower for the twins - which i wanted to be very early because i was so afraid to miss another shower. they had it at 28w - but i would have been happier if it was even earlier.
I'd do it ASAP for peace of mind
Not a triplet mom either but mine shower is scheduled in a few weeks. I'll be right around 28 weeks. The timing wouldn't have worked because of the holiday season, but I wish it was scheduled for an earlier date. I'm now on bedrest and while the docs are taking a wait and see approach, I'm afraid I won't be able to go.
Definitely do it sooner than later!
I know...I know. I am not a triplet mom either but my shower is going to be in 2 weeks. That would put me just over 27 weeks. I'm trying to avoid being on bedrest or having babies after shower...

whew - I'm glad it's winter! I'm so hot all the time anyway I can't imagine being out and about in 90 degree heat!
guess I need to tell my friends to get planning...
i'm glad my showers were before 27 weeks.
seriously though, the earlier the better i think.
