last week I found out dd and I have thrush. We are both being treated and much better, but I have about 40 oz of bm in the freezer and I am still continuing to freeze about a bottle a day. I go back to work next Monday. They don't know when we got thrush so it could have been right after delivery and I don't know what to do with all the bm I froze. Should I use that first for the first couple days I go back to work? Or is thrush not in bm? I don't know what to do becase we are both being treated, but in one week I wont be able to freeze much.
Re: thursh and pumping
I'm sorry to say you need to throw out that frozen BM. Even if you do not know when you contracted thrush, you do not want to run the risk of contracting it again if you use that frozen milk after you've been treated. It's a very difficult infection to get rid of and you have to be very proactive. Wash your clothes and bath towels in bleach, replace your nursing pads every day, wash your hands every time you change your baby's diapers. Good luck. I went through this and it's very nasty.
