Supply question...anyone EP and work out regularly?

Does anyone work out regularly and EP? I am SOO ready to loose this baby weight, but am super worried about my supply tanking...I joined weight watchers, and was doing well until my supply tanked. I built it back up to where it was as it is more important to me to feed DS, but I can't stand being this weight anymore! Any thoughts or tips? Does anyone know if the calorie count is any different for pumping vs. bfing? I pump as often as DS eats. TIA!

  • I've been trying very hard to get back to working out regularly but have yet to succeed in that department.  I don't think the calorie count for BFing would be any different than pumping as you are still making milk either way.

  • I don't EP but I would think  the calorie intake would be the same.  If you want to workout just start out slow.   Maybe exercise every other day instead of everyday and review every few days to see how things are going.

You may lose weight just from exercising, but if you don't I wouldn't stress about it.  As long as you are getting a little bit of exercise you are on the right track and getting your body back in shape.  Once you stop pumping you'll still benefit from the exercise you were doing and I'm sure the weight loss will be much easier!

  • I am BF and pump about twice a day.  I have been exercising since 3 weeks pp and have seen no impact to my supply.  Even after a major cardio workout like running or kickboxing, DS eats with no problems.  I just make sure to drink tons of water.
