Booked a vacation today (just me and DH), a little nervous!

We booked our first vacation away from DD today. We're going to an all-inclusive in Mexico for 4 nights (5 days total away from DD). We leave in 2 weeks. I am excited because we really need some time away and I know we'll have a blast, BUT I am really nervous about leaving DD for that long. I have never been away from her for more that 24 hours. My parents will be staying here with her, hopefully she handles it ok. With DD #2 on the way, we thought this was important to do....no telling when we'll get the chance to get away again.

I guess I'm just looking for encouragement. Anyone been nervous about a trip away from DC but ended up having a great time? Did DC handle it ok?

Woo hoo! You're going to have a blast! Dh and I went to Costa Rica in March without ds. He stayed with my parents and they had a blast...and so did we! They emailed me every day and sent me some pictures every other day so I knew they were doing great and having fun. He's spent the night and even the weekend with them, but that week as the longest we'd been without him. We had so much fun, stayed busy and we were back before we knew it. We've planned another trip without him for March again - we're going to Cabo this time.

We've done 4 days away from DD and it was a blast!  It's so freeing.  She was with my MIL who I completely trust so I wasn't worried about her at all.  That really helped, knowing that she was in good hands.  Have a great time!
