I have the Medela Freestyle but keep hearing that you'll get more milk if I rent the hospital pump. Anyone have any experience or seen a difference from using the hospital pump?
I don't know for sure because I never used a hospital grade pump.
I do know that the better the pump the better your output could be. With DS I started out with a single electric pump but after a month or so I bought a Medela PISA. I noticed a difference right away. BUT the first pump was pretty low on the quality scale so the PISA was a big step up. I don't know how much of a difference a hospital grade pump and a Freestyle really have between them.
If you have the funds available just try renting one and seeing if it makes a difference. I have heard that they are roughly $40/month to rent.
I have the freestyle and I work at a hospital and I borrow one of the hospital pumps from time to time, I dont notice any difference in the amount I am able to pump out.

My hospital is $40 for half a month and $80 for the full month.
