Honey for a cough?

I thought I remembered you gals talking about this awhile back. How do I use it exactly? And can I use it on my almost one year old? I know no honey until a year, but she'll be one next week. Last night she was coughing herself awake and has been generally miserable last night and today. I need a solution that will work. TIA!!!

I don't know about the honey never heard of it, but I hope your DD feels better sson.

I know our pedi has said that honey, specifically buckwheat, is the best thing for a cough. I mixed equal parts honey (1 tsp maybe?) and lemon juice into warm water and gave it to DS in a cup. It seemed to help him.
