Is sudafed is safe for sore throat/congestion?

Who has access to Medications and Mother's Milk?

I think my LC said Sudafed was safe, but I don't remember.  And I'm no good at remembering the safe drugs (active ingredient) when I'm at the store looking at the name brands.

I use safefetus.com to check on medicines.  It says "Excreted into milk. Compatible with breast feeding."

Although it may be safe, I would not recommend taking it while bfing--it dries up your bodily excretions, including milk.  So it can affect your supply.

So there are kind of 2 questions you want to think about with meds:

1. is it safe for my baby if I take this, and 

2. is it going to have a negative impact on the mechanics of breastfeeding?
