I'm planning on getting a membership to one of these two, mainly to get diapers in bulk. In terms of location from me, they are the same, so I'm wondering if anyone has a preference, and why? TIA!

Sams's has pamper's, huggies, and their own brand stuff. Cosco has Huggies and their own brand. We have a Sam's membership because I'm a pampers lover. Otherwise the few times I've visited cosco with friends, I've really liked it.
we use to belong to sam's but recently switched to costco as the membership fee is the same per year, but we found costco to be cheaper on all the things we buy (50 cents to $1 cheaper for sure on most items). which doesn't seem like much but it makes a difference after awhile. we also found costco to be cleaner and roomier no matter how busy (we did a guest visit before deciding to switch).
another bonus is costco sends weekly e-mails and monthly coupons/deals in the mail (something sam's never did) we are liking that feature a lot!!! i have also learned that if the item is a "costco/kirkland" brand that it is actually the name brand product (ie ball park franks)
for an idea of the deal on something like wipes----we just bought a box of kirkland brand wipes 900 of them for $18.99. i liked sam's wipes, but i can tell you i never got that many for that price.
good luck with your choice and if you can go to both as a guest first and check them out!
We do Sam's...mainly because it's right down the street from us, and I have no idea where a Costco even is. For a while, the one by us never carried Olivia's size though. She's in 3's now, and I'm pretty sure they have those though. We mainly use our Sam's for cat food, cat litter and cleaning stuff....and for parties.
We like Costco and purchase diapers and formula there. We use the Kirkland/Costco brand of formula and also diapers until we got to the bigger size, Huggies were actually a little less expensive than the store brand.
In addition to PP, Costco has a lot of great deals available online. We purchased a cruise and a trip to Vegas through Costco travel and it was cheaper than anywhere else we looked. Also tires are the best at Costco with free rotations for life and a great warranty. I recommend Costco all the way!
Re: Costco or Sam's Club?
Depends on what diapers you use.
I believe Sam's carries Pampers and Costco carries Huggies.
Then they both have their own brands.

Actually Sam's has wipes for the exact same price per wipe (.02 cents) as Costco and this is for Huggies wipes vs Kirkland wipes.................

We love Costco for a lot of other things too!
