Would you put things like extra breast shields or bra pads on your registry? Or do you consider these more personal items, like a bra?
Also, did you put any bottles on your registry? How did you pick what to put on?
DH and I started our registry last night. WOOHOO! Now I'm just trying to round it out.
Re: Registry questions - bfing supplies and bottles
I did not put any breast-related items on mine, I just felt a little funny about it. I guess it depends on whether you personally feel comfortable with that and who might be viewing your registry. But I did put them on after my shower so I could get the 10% completion discount (which I of course forgot to use).
I just put a 4-pack of bottles on my registry because I know that babies can be picky about bottles. I chose Dr. Browns, but then I thought it might be better to get some Medela bottles that I can just attach to the pump and go (I've been told that daycares ask you to bring in bottles, not bags, of BM). Baby might not like them so I only bought 3.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww, bewbie supplies on a registry, ewwwwwwwwww
lol, i personally wouldn't do it. i think it might be awkward for grandpa, uncle, brother, SIL, coworkers...etc to pick out bewbie covers.
glass bottles are best. enjoy making your registry, that must be so much fun!!

To be honest, I first had breast pads and nipple soreness cream on there and then felt like people would not want to buy that type of stuff and that they were personal items that I really should buy. I did put a breast pump and the storage and freezing containers, as well as bottles on my registry, however took the nipple cream and breast pads off.
Honestly I am glad I took them off and there was one item that was not purchased out of everything and that was the breast pump. And we registered just for a single one that was $65 so it was not a lot of money. I guess people rather buy other stuff. So after my shower, I had a few doubles of things so I was able to return a bunch of stuff and got over $200 in credit plus had another $200 in gift cards which I am saving for when she comes but I went back and bought the pads and cream which was like $20 out of my pocket so not a big deal.
As for bottles, I heard so many different things. Therefore I registered for a few. I registered for Dr. Browns, Avent and Medela. Some people told me they loved Dr. Browns while others said they did not like that there were parts to them. The other brand recommended to me was Avent so I registered for those, however some told me those leak a lot. I then added the medela so they could attach easily to the pump. We will just have to see what works for us and what the baby likes. I did not open any of them yet and when we come to that point, will open one pack and see how she does with them.
Good luck and enjoy registering!
No, I didn't put breast pads, etc., on my registry. And when my sister in law did, I thought it was really strange. So I guess I fall into the category of thinking that stuff's too personal.
As for the bottles, I think I registered for three different types/brands because I wasn't sure which ones DD would like. I tried one brand, which she didn't like (Playtex VentAire), then we tried the next (Avent) which worked. I took the sets that we hadn't tried back to the store.
I did not put anything for breastfeeding on my registry besides the freezer bags. I was not comfortable doing it.
With bottles, we registered for several different kids but not to many of each. We will have to see what Makayla likes and go from there.
I put a few BF supplies up there, including the pump. It doesn't weird me out at all or seem too personal. I wouldn't have a problem with any of the men in my family buying me a breast pump. That being said, I can't think of a single male in my family that would ever go to BRU to buy something off of a registry. They're more inclined to just give a gift card or let their wife or SO pick out a gift. DH never bothers to look at registries when I buy gifts for friends and fam. He usually talks on his cell phone while I do the shopping, or goes to another store while I shop since I tend to take my sweet time whenever I shop.
As far as bottles, I picked 3 types and registered for the smallest pack of each. You never know which your LO will like, so it's good to have a few to try out.
I plan on putting a breastpump and the accessories on there. I'm not sure about the pads, creams, etc. I've definitely seen it on a bunch of friends registries but I may draw the line at the pump / storage stuff.
I registered for Dr Brown wide neck bottles.
I didn't have any BFing supplies or bottles on my registry. The BFing supplies was mostly because I would rather purchase myself and not have to open it at a shower
Our insurance company also reimbursed me for the pump and some supplies so I needed the original purchase receipt.
As for the bottles, we were fortunate enough to get a whole bunch of bottles from DH's aunt that works for Phillips (maker of Avent). DD didn't take to them at first so we ended up buying some Adiri nursers to help her get the hang of it. Once she was comfortable, we moved her to the Avent bottles. They were much more convenient!
We put the BF supplies on our registry for the boys. If you have it on there, you can use your completion coupon after the shower and get 10% off of it. That is a lot of money if you are buying an expensive pump. I knew that no one would actually buy it, but wanted the discount.
As for bottles, we registered for a bunch of different kinds. We figured we could use the "free ones" to decide what babies would like... then we could buy that kind ourselves.
