I don't think it's nursemaid's elbow. The only part that seems
tender is her hand and she didn't have any episodes after we picked her
up where she cried immediately or anything. The symptoms don't really fit.
Her wrist may be a tiny bit swollen (how in the world do you tell baby pudge from swelling?!) but isn't bruised or anything and all the tips that otc said to check were fine. She can move it, and has, but just cries when she does. We did give her motrin and she was using her hand just a minute ago (sans crying) so I think it's helping a bit.
We decided to try and see how she does with the motrin and call in the morning. If, however, she isn't sleeping even with the motrin I'm taking her in. No point in another torturous night. But if we can all get some sleep with the medicine then I think that says that it can wait.
Thanks for all
the help ladies, DH was glad I got other's opinions too. Even if I had
to sign off before most of them were posted. Hopefully the rest of the
night is rather uneventful!
