Re: Baby Einstein DVD's

  • LOOOOVE 'em.  It buys me some time if I really need to do something and I'm by myself.  I'll pop it in and put him in the exersaucer and he staresss!  I got mine as a gift.  I know babies shouldn't 'watch' television but it's hard to get things done whenever your husband works out of town.

  • We have them but DS hated them. Haven't tried them on DD only cause DS watches PBS and Wonder Pets.
  • hate them. LO is not allowed to watch tv.
  • DS likes them.  Target :)

I think the thing about them not watching tv is that the images move faster than their brains can process.  The baby e videos I've seen move at a much slower pace than regular tv.

  • LO likes them. They are top notch if I need to fold some laundry. She'll watch and I can fold while it's on. Even DH stares at them sometimes. He swears he's just "zoning out".

Not really, b/c it doesn't matter WHAT they are watching....it's all the same to them so young.  It's messed with t heir brain development.

    Everything in moderation.

  • these were "recalled" if you wanted to return them bc they were falsely advertising that they had some sort of educational benefit. disney  now takes back that statement. tv is not recommended at all for kids under that age of 2. (that being said, my lo watches football games, adn i will turn it on if he is super fussy)

That is fine if you personally believe in that and I'm sure in moderation you're NOT harming your baby at all, but that is not what the AAP states. And no, everything is not always fine in moderation.

  • I think they are great. You have to be able to do something around the house and the baby be able to be amused. I put him in the exersaucer so he isnt lying down and pop one in. he LOVES them. I like most of them except baby noah. That one he cries within a few minutes and never can watch.
  • thanks!
