Have you had to try different formulas? DD won't take formula half the time. And when she does she sometimes throws it all back up. My supply is dipping and I am not making nearly enough at work to keep with her so we are trying to introduce a bottle of formula a day even when I am with her to get her used to it. And now she will only take it from daycare, not from me or my husband or anything - she is being a fickle chicken!
Re: BF mom who supplement
I've used the same formula they gave her when we started to supplement in the hospital. I know that doesn't help. Maybe try to mix some BM with the formula and see if it agrees with her that way. Perhaps if it's not just one bottle of strictly formula she'll get used to it.
BTW, I've never heard the term "fickle chicken" but I love it.
Taking it only from daycare is normal. Why have a bottle when she has mommy
Which formulas have you tried? Similac Advanced and Enfamil Lipil worked well for us.
Enfamil was a disaster for us. Similac seems to be working now, but she did get sick the other day which was odd since she hasn't for a few weeks so I think she might have a bug.
Growing Up Olson
We had issues with her being super gassy and screaming after she ate the formula, from the powdered. We were going to try soy, but decided to try the ready mixed liquid instead. She is handling it so well. She has it while i am at work and i bf at home (except maybe a bottle in the evening if she is really hungry, and pumping at work doesn't ever come up with more than 1 bottle per 6 hour shift)
Anyways, the liquid comes in 8 ounce bottles a 6 pack at walmart for 9.00. We split them into 2 bottles. Once you open it has to be used within 24 hours. but she is doing really well with it - almost no spit up, and no gassy baby. I use similac checks and it only cost me 4.00
